Say I Do Where the
River Meets the Land
Intimate weddings and elopements on 160 acres of regenerative farmland in Montana's Blackfoot River Valley. Where wildflower meadows, Monture Creek, and the big sky become your ceremony.
Begin Your Story
A Place That Already Feels Like a Celebration
Orion Farmstead sits in the heart of Montana's Blackfoot River Valley, near the quiet town of Ovando. Nearly a mile of Monture Creek winds through the property — its clear waters, cottonwood banks, and hillside backdrop forming a natural cathedral for couples who want their wedding to feel like the landscape itself is part of the ceremony.
This is a working regenerative farm: heritage apple trees, wildflower meadows, open pasture rising to a hilltop with sweeping valley views. There are no manufactured backdrops here — just 160 acres of restored Montana land, alive with birdsong, creek song, and the kind of connection that makes every word of a vow feel like it matters.
Your Venue, Naturally
Creekside Ceremonies
Exchange vows along Monture Creek, framed by cottonwoods and the sound of running water. Multiple ceremony sites across the property — from the sun-drenched meadow to the intimate creekbank.
On-Site Lodging
Our two private accommodations — Antler & Tin and Orion's Outpost — provide comfort for the couple and their closest people. Guest camping on the property keeps the whole party together under Montana's starlit sky.
Hydrotherapy & Wellness
A Finnish-style sauna, wood-fired hot tub, and cold plunge beside the creek. Perfect for a pre-ceremony bridal gathering, a post-reception wind-down, or simply soaking in the Montana evening.
Farm-to-Table Possibility
We grow heritage produce, mushrooms, herbs, and raise farm-fresh eggs on-site. Work with your caterer to incorporate ingredients harvested steps from your reception — a meal as rooted as your celebration.
160 Acres of Freedom
No curfews, no rigid schedules, no cookie-cutter timelines. Your wedding weekend unfolds at your pace. Dance under the stars, gather around the hearth, let the evening breathe.
Fly Fishing & Adventure
Monture Creek runs with clear water and wild trout. Your guests can fish, hike, forage, or simply wander — a wedding weekend that's as much about the experience as the event.
A Wedding That Feels Like Coming Home
Most of our couples choose a full weekend — and we think that's the way it should be. Arrive Friday, settle in, let the land slow you down. Celebrate Saturday. Linger Sunday. Here's what that looks like:
Arrive & Gather
Your people arrive and settle into the property. A welcome gathering around the hearth — drinks, appetizers, laughter, the Blackfoot Valley sunset. The rehearsal happens naturally, without rush.
Celebrate
Morning calm on the creek. An afternoon ceremony in the meadow or along the water. Reception under the tent as the light turns golden. Dancing, toasts, and a sky full of stars with no light pollution.
Linger & Depart
A farewell brunch. Fly fishing. One last soak in the hot tub. Hugs and departures at whatever pace feels right. No checkout pressure — just a gentle close to a weekend well lived.
"There's something about this valley that makes every word you say feel like it matters more. Like the land is listening."

Before You Reach Out
Where exactly are you?
We're in the Blackfoot River Valley, about five minutes west of Ovando, Montana — roughly an hour from Missoula. The nearest airport is Missoula International (MSO). It's rural, it's quiet, and that's the whole point.
What's the wedding season?
Our venue is available from late May through early October. July and August offer the warmest weather and longest days. September brings golden light and cooler evenings — a favorite for couples who love fall color.
How many guests can you accommodate?
We specialize in intimate celebrations — elopements and micro-weddings of 2 to 40 guests are our sweet spot. We can accommodate larger gatherings up to 100 guests with tent rentals and expanded setup. We'll work with you to determine the right fit for your vision and the land.
Do you provide catering?
We don't offer in-house catering, but we work with trusted local caterers who travel to Ovando and love working with our farm ingredients. We're happy to share our preferred vendor list and can supply fresh eggs, herbs, mushrooms, and seasonal produce from the farm to complement your menu.
Where do guests stay?
The couple (and select members of the wedding party) stay on-site in our two private accommodations: Antler & Tin and Orion's Outpost. Additional guests can camp on the property — we have ample space along the creek — or book rooms in Ovando, Lincoln, or the Blackfoot Valley area. We'll help coordinate lodging logistics.
What about rain?
Montana weather is part of the adventure. For larger weddings, a reception tent is included in our planning to ensure you're covered regardless of conditions. For elopements, we have sheltered options on the property. We'll work with you on a weather plan so the day feels effortless no matter what the sky decides.
Do we need a marriage license?
Yes — you'll need a Montana marriage license from any Clerk of District Court in the state. There's no waiting period, no residency requirement, and the fee is around $53. The license is valid immediately and good for 180 days. We're in Powell County, but you can obtain your license from any Montana county.
